Today is May 8, 2023. And that marks 28 years to the date when a 32-year-old man named Andy Cook opened his family law practice in the Bankers Hill area of San Diego.
Lots of things have changed since that time, including some more gray hair on Andy’s head and also some loss of hair, but his dependability, attention to detail and hard work have not.
Over the years the practice has grown and now features two full-time attorneys, a paralegal, and a host of receptionists who keep us going throughout the year.
Andy, who has no plans of slowing down, became a Certified Family Law Specialist, as designated by the State Bar of California, Board of Legal Specialization, over 20 years ago, on November 1, 2002. He has since earned the rating of AV-Preeminent by Martindale Hubbell. For four consecutive years, he has been named a Super Lawyer in San Diego by West publishing. For the past two years, he has been selected as a top Family Law attorney in California by the Los Angeles Daily Journal.
Always active in the legal community, Andy served as a member of the Board of Directors of the San Diego County Bar Association (“SDCBA”) from 2013-2016. He has also served as a fee dispute arbitrator for the SDCBA for over 22 years.
And it looks like law runs in the family. Andy’s daughter is graduating this month from law school and will be starting a job at a Los Angeles law firm this year.
Andy, who is a member of the San Diego Downtown Breakfast Rotary Club, is a graduate of California Western School of Law and has lived in San Diego for most of his life.
